I’ve been fortunate to study flute repair with Tom Peterson since December 2021. Since then, I’ve completed full overhauls, standard COAs, and a variety of small adjustments on instruments ranging from student models to professional flutes. I know there’s a need for more repair technicians and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on more projects of my own. I am currently accepting work on student and intermediate model flutes.
CLEAN OIL ADJUST (COA):
- Shim to remove leaks in pads
- Check head joint cork, and replace if necessary
- Clean to remove dirt and tarnish from the body
- Clean and oil mechanism
- Adjust felt and cork connections
Pricing:
- Free consultation, then I can give a quote after seeing your flute
- Hourly rate = $60 per hour + materials (such as new pads, head cork, etc.)
- Mindful of customer budget, and will stick to agreed upon cost
- Until I build a sufficient inventory of pads/materials, larger jobs will be referred elsewhere
